The
school year is off to a good start. Children are coming with beautiful
smiles, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn through new and exciting
adventures. As always our first concern is their safety. The traffic
and parking problems at our school still exists, and we appreciate your
support in following traffic patterns, signs and painted pavement.
We have additional
staff and resources this year to meet the needs of our students through
extended learning opportunities. Students who are struggling to meet
grade level standards will have additional time with teachers to work
on skills in a small group or one to one. These extended learning opportunities
will be given throughout the year to students as they are identified
by teachers. Teachers will contact parents to arrange the extended learning
time. It may be before school or after school as agreed upon by teachers
and parent. Our school system has made this available to only a few
schools and we are pleased to be one of them. The extended time is offered
to students as a chance to boost achievement to grade level standard
so it is important to take advantage of this opportunity. We look forward
to working with you to make this a successful year for your children.
Keep up regular communication with teachers so you can be involved in
providing learning opportunities for them.
Thanks for your
continued support of Waverley School. Have a great year.
